1 1/2 Cup Sugar
3/4 Cup Shortening
3 Eggs
1 Can Sour Cherries Drained
Add 5 Tbsp Milk to Sour Cherries
Add alternately with-
2 Cups of Flour
1/2 Tsp Cloves
1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
1 Tsp Baking Soda
Combine dry ingredients together; whisk and set aside.
In a mixing bowl, cream together sugar and shortening until fluffy. Add in eggs.
Stir milk and sour cherries together. Alternately add cherry mixture and dry ingredients to wet ingredients until thoroughly combined.
Pour batter evenly into 2 greased 8 in cake pans.
Bake at 350 until done. When toothpick inserted in center comes out dry.
