West Haven Cake

Ingredients

1 Box of Dates, halved

1 Cup Hot Water

1 Tsp Baking Soda

1 Stick of Oleo (unsalted butter)

1 Cup Sugar

2 Large Eggs

1 Tsp Vanilla

1 1/2 Cup All-Purpose Flour 

2 Tbsp Hersheys Chocolate

1 1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips

1 1/2 Cup Walnuts, chopped

Whipped Cream Topping (optional)

Directions

1 Box of Dates, halved

1 Cup Hot Water

1 Tsp Baking Soda

1 Stick of Oleo (unsalted butter)

1 Cup Sugar

2 Large Eggs

1 Tsp Vanilla

1 1/2 Cup All-Purpose Flour 

2 Tbsp Hersheys Chocolate

1 1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips

1 1/2 Cup Walnuts, chopped

Whipped Cream Topping (optional)


In a bowl, pour hot water and baking soda over halved dates, set aside.


Cream together, butter, sugar, and eggs. Add date mixture entirety, do not drain or stir mixture. Then add, vanilla, flour, and Hersheys Chocolate. Mix together.


Pour mixture into greased 9x13 pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips and walnuts on top.


Bake at 350 for 30 minutes, let cool. Top west haven cake with a dollop of whipped cream.
